Wanda Louise Benefiel

Wanda Louise Benefiel, 87, of Noblesville, IN died February 18, 2016 at Riverwalk Village at Noblesville. She was born July 12, 1928 at Strawtown, IN to Roy Francis and Ella Bessie (Staton) Penwell. Wanda married Fred Thomas Benefiel on May 24, 1946 and together they enjoyed family and farm life near her birthplace. She also loved attending her grandchildren's programs and sporting events. She was a member of Strawtown Community Church and the Noblesville Women of the Moose Lodge. She was an avid bowler and traveled to bowling tournaments across the United States, even winning an Indiana State Tournament. Spare time found her doing oil paintings and singing and playing the guitar. In addition to her husband she is survived by sons: Steven (Vickie) Benefiel of Arcadia, IN, Roy Vernon Benefiel of Noblesville, IN, daughters: Randy Louise Thomas of Arcadia, IN and Rebecca Ann (Mark) Sims of Sebring. FL, grandchildren: Charlie Sims, Andy Sims, Daniel Benefiel, Jay Kinder, Elizabeth Taber, Kaylee Wilson, Emily Howard, and Amos, Maggie, Melissa, and Michael Benefiel along with several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Fred Thomas Benefield, Jr., great-grandson, Elijah Benefiel, brother Wilbur Penwell, and sister Mardell Kirby. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Carey Cemetery north of Noblesville, IN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday.
