Von A. Irion

Von A. Irion, 80, of Noblesville, IN died February 10, 2013 at home. He was born August 14, 1932 at Noblesville, IN to David and Ida Mae (Yocom) Irion.

He was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School and then served his country during the Korean War. Von had worked at Delco Remy at Anderson, IN for over 53 years and was a member of the UAW. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening.

He married Wilma Lucille (Perkins) Irion on July 7, 1955. She preceded him in death August 16, 1994. In addition to his wife and his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Jean Chandler.

Surviving him are sons: David Aldon Irion of Cicero, IN, Steven Lee Irion of Shiloh, AL, John Michael Irion of Noblesville, IN and Brian Keith Irion of Noblesville, IN, daughters: Teresa Ann McGowan of Russell Springs, KY and Elaine Mae Runyon of Noblesville, IN, 43 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a special friend: Peggy Smith.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Arcadia Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Carey Cemetery.
