Susan Jean Hoch

Susan Jean Hoch, age 64, of Arcadia, Indiana died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Riverview Hospital. She was born May 16, 1946 at Wabash, Indiana to Kenneth and Luana (Simpson) Lefforge.

She was a graduate of Northfield High School at Wabash with the Class of 1964. She then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Manchester College and later a Master of Science Degree at Indiana University. For 36 years she was a beloved kindergarten teacher at Hamilton Heights Primary School.

Susan was a member of Cicero Christian Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the welcoming committee, and was a spiritual mentor to many. She was a member of the Indiana State Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. To her family she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and sister and deeply appreciated by all.

January 21, 1967 she married Jan L. Hoch who survives her. Additional survivors include sons: Daniel Kenneth (Stacy) Hoch of Lapel, IN, Matthew Scott (Stacy) Hoch of Newark, OH, daughter: Beth Ann (Steve) Sperry of Frankton, IN, brothers: James Lefforge of Wabash, IN, David Lefforge of Bluffton, IN, sisters: Margaret Bailey of Phoinix, AZ, Maribess Powell of Ft. Worth, TX, and five grandchildren: Anna, Kate, Andrew, Emma, and Ella.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike, Cicero, IN 46034 with Michael Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. also at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Cicero Christian Church.
