Shirley Mae Grimes

Shirley Mae Grimes, age 76, of Cicero, IN and formerly of southern Indiana, died June 21, 2012 at Riverview Hospital at Noblesville, IN. She was born at Noblesville, IN on July 8, 1935 to William and Elizabeth (Raison) Case.

Shirley had first worked at Statesman Insurance Company at Nora, IN and then worked in the office at Stokley Van Camp at Indianapolis, IN. Lastly, she worked as a sub-contractor for Midwest Title Company.

She loved to play euchre and traveled to various locations to play. She enjoyed any game, especially Fast Track and hosted family gatherings where she could visit and also play her games with family members. Shirley also looked forward to eating in various restaurants with her family and friends.

She married Herman Leonard Grimes who preceded her in death in November of 2005. Also preceding her in death are her parents, daughter: Gloria Jean Uphold, sons: Raymond Scherer, Arnold Howard Boles, and David Eugene Boles, step-son: Patrick Lenn Grimes, and a sister: Betty Lou Baker.

Surviving her is a daughter: Laura Lynn Phifer of Tipton, IN, a brother: David D. Case of Westfield, IN, two sisters: Rebecca R. Clark of Arcadia, IN and Margaret Joan Retherford of Anderson, IN, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor Kevin Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M Visitation
