Sharon Sell

Sharon Darlene (Pickard) Sell, born on 22nd March 1937 in Sheridan, Indiana, passed away peacefully on 4th June 2026, in her residence in Cicero, Indiana. Known for her loving nature and empathetic heart, Sharon was a beacon of compassion and wit to all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a doting grandmother, a caring sister, and a cherished friend. She maintained an unwavering faith in God, and her life was a living testament to her deep-seated belief in the power of love and kindness.

Married on 14th April 1958, Sharon was widowed after a beautiful marital journey. She retired as a bookkeeper from Marsh Supermarkets after 25 years of diligent service, an achievement she was proud of. True to her compassionate nature, Sharon devoted her golden years to volunteering at the Green Valley Church of Christ Food Pantry. Her hobbies encompassed everything from playing card games and video games on the computer to landscaping and watching her favorite show, Reba, at night. She also had a soft spot for old classic movies, and she loved classic country music. Her love for the outdoors often led her to the Rocky Mountains, where she loved to spend time in her cabin in Idaho Springs, Colorado. What mattered most to Sharon was her family, especially her grandkids.

Sharon leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving children Brian Sell and Rhonda Barnette, her children Teresa Abney, Kathy Williams, and Gary Merrill, her sister Diane Dial, and her ten beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Donald Sell, her parents, Dolph and Helen Pickard, her sister Peggy Franks, and her grandson Jeremy Abney.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana, 46034. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the same venue. Services will be performed by Reverend Robert Stubbs. Graveside rites will be conducted at 2:00 pm at Cicero Cemetery, Cicero, Indiana, 46034. All services will be under the direction of Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Homes - Cicero.

In honor of Sharon, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Valley Church of Christ Food Pantry, a cause close to her heart.
