Sarah Margaret "Tommie" Etchison

Sarah Margaret "Tommie" Etchison, age 95, of Noblesville, IN died December 5, 2013 at Carmel Health & Living. She was born, one of four daughters, on July 9, 1918 at Arcadia, IN to Vane and Jessie (Stanley) Leaming. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School. In addition to enjoying her role as a homemaker she also became an accomplished seamstress. She made many of her family's clothes in addition to working in a custom drapery shop. She was a member of Arcadia Eastern Star, that has now merged with Cicero Eastern Star, First Christian Church of Noblesville and Hamilton County Senior Citizens. Until recently she was active in two Stardust Bowling Leagues and was thought to be their oldest member. She married Elbert V. Etchison who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Sarah Jane Bannon, two sisters: Mary Zeiss and Anna Marie Becker and a granddaughter. Surviving her is a son: William "Bill" (Judy) Etchison of Virginia, a daughter: Jean Ann (Don) Foster of Carmel, IN, sister: Jean Elizabeth Barker of Sheridan, IN, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor John Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time. A private burial will occur at Arcadia Cemetery.
