Russell Lee Marston

Russell Lee Marston, age 80, of Cicero, IN died April 23, 2015 at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville, IN. He was born September 20, 1934 at Indianapolis, IN to Robert Thomas and Esther Marie (Plake) Marston. After his school years, Russell served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later in the Air Force Reserves. He then was employed at the Diamond Chain Corporation at Indianapolis where he worked for 35 years, retiring as Superintendent of Fabrication. Russell was a member of the Plainfield Elks Club. He was a master craftsman in woodworking making beautiful cabinetry and furniture. Leisure time found him golfing, fishing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also was an avid Colts fan. He married Beverly Lou (Schmaltz) Marston on February 14, 1984. She survives him. Additional survivors include daughters: Cindy Lee (Frank) Walton of Adams, TN, Diane (Kip) Gordon of Cicero, IN, sons: Gregg (Shelly) Painter of Indianapolis, Mike Painter of Bargersville, IN and Chris (Tammy) Painter of Franklin, KY, 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Carolyn Mae Marston, sisters: Roberta Ragen and Sue Blake, brother: Bob Marston. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the services. In his memory please share a random act of kindness to another person within two weeks.
