Rosemary Myrtle Carey

Rosemary Myrtle Carey, age 92, of Cicero, IN died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Harbour Manor Rehab Health at Noblesville, IN. She was born March 24, 1924 at East Peoria, Illinois to George Everett and Mae (Reed) Lyons. She was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School with the Class of 1942. She married William (Bill) O. Carey on August 26, 1944. She, with her husband owned the Cicero Laundromat and the Cicero Corner Tavern. She was also the bookkeeper for the businesses. Rosemary was a member of the Cicero American Legion Auxiliary, Noblesville VFW Auxiliary and the Cicero Christian Church. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed word search puzzles. But most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son: Rex Lee Carey and a sister: Gladys M. Conlon. Surviving her are two daughters: Trudy (Mike) Brown of Cicero, IN and Jody (Gary) Spurgeon of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Derrick (Sucharitha) Brown, Daniel (Amy) Brown, Lacy (Tim) Bowyer, and Trey (Mandy) Spurgeon. Additional survivors include great grandchildren: Kiran, Aaryana, Channing, Leland, Illiana, Royce, Kinsley and Emma Rose. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with Pastor J.R. Moffatt officiating. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Arcadia Christian Church for the Mission Fund.
