Ronald Brian Thatcher

Ronald Brian Thatcher, age 79, of Tipton, IN died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, IN. He was born January 14, 1933 at Atlanta, IN to Burl Gerald and Sadie Marie (Collingwood) Thatcher.

Ronald was a graduate of Windfall High School with the Class of 1951. He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was a farmer most of his life and also worked at Delco Electronics at Kokomo, IN. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1995.

Ronald attended Trinity Wesleyan Church at Tipton, IN. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed interacting with his family and was known for his culinary skills. His specialties were pancakes, biscuits and gravy, ice cream and peanut butter pies.

He married Shirley Ann (Castor) Thatcher on January 20, 1961. She survives him. Also surviving are two sons: Jeffrey (Debbie) Miller of Tipton, IN and Bradley (Mary) Miller of Indianapolis, IN, two daughters: Karen (Craig) Leininger of Tipton, IN and Deana Thatcher of Noblesville, IN, a brother: Verlin Thatcher of Anderson, IN, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a brother: Kenneth Thatcher.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Trinity Wesleyan Church at Tipton, IN with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time also on Saturday at the Church. Pastor Douglas Slack and Pastor Johnnie Blair will officiate. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
