Roland Lee Brakensiek

Roland Lee Brakensiek, age 74, of Arcadia, IN died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 1, 1938 near Terre Haute, IN to Charles Gerald and Mable Ilene (LeMay) Brakensiek.

He was a graduate of Fountainette High School and attended the University of North Dakota and Indiana University Indianapolis. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Roland was an electronics technician working for thirty years at Naval Avionics at Indianapolis, IN. He enjoyed working with electronics, studying astronomy, and reading science fiction. He was a member of Omega Christian Church.

He married Karthryn Irene (Brown) Brakensiek who survives him. Also surviving is a son: Phillip Brakensiek of Sheridan, IN, three daughters: Judy (Earl) Scheffler of Tipton, IN, Barbara (Neal) Kreutzer of Cicero, IN, and Linda (Erin) Fultz of Arcadia, IN, two sisters: Myrna McMurray of Rosedale, IN and Karen Sue Miller of Morristown, TN, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a bother: Gary Brakensiek.
