Rocky Thomas Cummings, Sr.

Rocky Thomas Cummings, Sr., age 72, of Cicero, IN died October 30, 2012 at his home. He was born July 5, 1940 at Rosston, IN to Bert and Lela (Birden) Cummings.

He was a graduate of Westfield High School with the Class of 1959 where he was a varsity football player. Rocky continued to enjoy sports, especially Husky football and basketball. He and a son formed Husky Chef Catering and fed Husky teams as well as providing food at Colts games. He was also a NASCAR fan. Rocky enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

He worked as a supervisor of shipping and receiving for TRW that became Noblesville Casting and then Ductile for 48 years. He then worked at Biddle Corporation at Sheridan and lastly as a transporter for Harbour Manor Care Center at Noblesville. He had also driven a school bus for Hamilton Heights School Corporation.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He married Patricia Mae (Stafford) Cummings on December 1, 1959. She survives him. Also surviving are sons: Rocky Thomas Cummings, Jr. of Cicero, IN and Rodney Allen Cummings of Arcadia, IN, daughters: Bernadette Cox of Noblesville, IN and Valerie Lee Rihm of Noblesville, IN, brothers: Ronald Wayne Cummings of Phoenix, AZ and Charles Larue Cummings of Sheridan, IN, sister: Patricia Kay Harmon of Westfield, IN, grandchildren: Amanda Shank, Tyler Cummings, Monica Cummings and Morgan Cummings, great-grandchildren: Clayton Shank and Madelyn Shank.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Edgar Cummings.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Chad Fultz officiating at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
