Robert Eugene Rushton

Robert Eugene Rushton, age 85, of Arcadia, IN died Monday, July 2, 2012 at his home. He was born March 19, 1927 at Anderson, Indiana to Oscar and Virgie (Garrison) Rushton.

Robert attended Anderson High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. After returning from the service he was employed as a press operator at Firestone Rubber Products Company where he worked for several years.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Arcadia, IN.

He married Carol Sue (Hodson) Rushton on January 12, 1951. She survives him. Also surviving is a son: David Eugene (Kimberly) Rushton of Arcadia, IN, and a daughter: Lisa Karen (Lech) Szymanski of Oxford, NJ, a sister: Norma Jean Warfel of Yorktown, IN, grandchildren: R.J. Rushton, T.J. Nicholas, Andrew Szymanski and Karolyn Hays, great-grandchildren: Jillian Fulper and Jude Szymanski. In addition to his parents, seven sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Arcadia Chapel with Pastor Rebecca Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery.
