Patricia May (Stafford) Cummings

–

Noblesville, Indiana

Patricia May Cummings of Noblesville left this world on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Riverwalk Village, having reached the age of 83.
One of seven children, Patricia was born to Kenneth and Gladys Stafford on February 27, 1941. She attended Westfield High School, and among other vocations, she worked at the Wal-Mart jewelry counter for over 15 years. On December 1, 1959, Patricia married Rocky Thomas Cummings, and they shared 65 years of marriage together before his passing in 2012.
Family was what Patricia held most dear. Whether gathered around the table playing a lively game of euchre or watching a NASCAR race and cheering on their favorite drivers, nothing thrilled her like spending time with her loved ones. A member of the Good Sam Camping Club, she loved traveling to go camping; she was especially fond of McCormick's Creek State Park, and some of her most cherished memories included camping trips to Wisconsin. Patricia also enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and painting landscapes on slate. She was a special person, and her family will miss her greatly.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Bernadette (Ben) Cox of Noblesville; and her sons Rocky (Stacy) Cummings, Jr., of Greenwood, and Rodney Cummings of Arcadia. She is also survived by her granddaughters Amanda (Robbie) Shank of Noblesville, Monica Cummings of Greenwood, and Morgan (Timothy) Brown of Franklin; her grandson Tyler Cummings of Arcadia; and her great-grandchildren Clayton, Madelyn, Ben, Gavin, Addysin, Calvin, and Ryin.
In addition to her husband and parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter Valerie Rihm; her sisters Bertha Marcum, Geraldine Hillard, and Shirley Castor; and her brothers Edsel, Grant, and Jessie Stafford.
Services for Patricia will take place at Hartley Funeral Homes in Cicero, Indiana, on September 30, 2024. Family and friends are invited to call between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm; a funeral ceremony officiated by Jody Brown will begin at 1:00pm. Immediately after the funeral, Patricia will be laid to rest at Cicero Cemetery following a brief committal service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Riverwalk Village Memory Care and Anew Hospice for their compassionate care of Patricia.
