Olive Marie Apple

Olive Marie Apple, age 99, of Sheridan, IN passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2017. She was born September 19, 1917 at home near Lebanon, IN to Glen and May (Moreland) Hammack. She attended Sheridan Schools and was a life time member of Sheridan Christian Church. She married Robert Gene Apple on May 4, 1949. He preceded her in death April 1, 2005. From 1949 until 1982 she assisted her husband at the Sheridan Airport. The photo included in this obituary shows her boarding a plane with her two week old son in the pilot seat. They were getting ready to fly to Chicago. Surviving her is a son: Jeffrey Gene (Susan) Apple of Sheridan, IN, daughters: Charlene L. Inman of Sheridan, IN and Judy K. (Earl) Pillion of Sheridan, IN, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ryan Inman. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, IN. A time of visitation will occur one-half hour before the services.
