Mary Jo Powers

Mary Jo Powers, age 72, of Noblesville, IN and formerly of Arcadia, IN died September 11, 2014 at Riverwalk Village at Noblesville. She was born July 23, 1942 at Indianapolis, IN to William Henry and Mary Almira (Leaming) Hughes. She was a graduate of Indiana School of Nursing and had worked as an LPN at the following healthcare facilities: Riverwalk Village, Sheridan Nursing Home, Harbour Manor Nursing Home, and Cardinal Care of Anderson. Mary Jo had served the Noblesville Nursing Home and Cardinal Care of Anderson as administrator. She was a member of Arcadia Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and ballroom dancing. Favorite times were times spent with her grandchildren and nieces nephews who called her "fun Aunt Jo". Surviving her is a daughter: Patricia Ann Knapp of Arcadia, IN, a son: Chris Berry of Albany, GA, brothers: Parker Zeiss of Seymour, IA, Robert Zeiss of Arcadia, IN, Mike Hughes of San Antonio, TX, Bill Zeiss of Daleville, IN and Tony Zeiss of Charlotte, NC, Sisters: Margaret Ann Hoggard of Noblesville, IN and Kathy Phelps of Pensacola, FL. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Athene Knapp, Luke Knapp, Ryan Cummings, Jason Berry, and Danielle Willock and 10 great-grandchildren. Those preceding her in death include: father: William Henry Hughes, mother: Mary Almira Zeiss, and step-father: Robert Zeiss. A celebration of Mary Jo's life will be held at a later date.
