Marie Overdorf Throgmartin

Marie Overdorf Throgmartin age 97, of Anderson, IN and formerly of Arcadia and Atlanta, IN died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at her home. She was born July 15, 1915 near Cicero, IN to Glenn and Clara (Raquet) Grubbs. They preceded her in death. Marie was a graduate of Manuel High School with the Class of 1932. She had worked as a bookkeeper for the Ray Brothers & Noble Packing Company and for Lewis and Small Company both located at Elwood, IN for 23 years. She later owned Re's Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant at Atlanta, IN where she also collected and sold antiques. She retired in 1982. Marie loved her Lord and also loved entertaining and interacting with her family. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a member of Arcadia Christian Church. She first married Eugene Overdorf who preceded her in death. Later she married William Throgmartin who also preceded her in death. Surviving her are two sons: Richard L. (Rita) Overdorf of Anderson, IN and Dennis G. (Betty) Overdorf of Radford, VA, grandchildren: Michael Overdorf, Susan Worrell, Debra Capibianco, Scot Overdorf and Bret Overdorf, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, step-sons: Gerald (Jo) Throgmartin and Donald (Jan) Throgmartin and her faithful care-giver: Betty Engle of Anderson, IN. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor J.R. Moffatt officiating. Burial will folloiw at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the services also at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Arcadia Christian Church, 26901 North State Road 19, Arcadia, IN 46030.
