Margaret Elizabeth Marquis

Margaret Elizabeth Marquis, age 98, of Noblesville, IN and formerly of Cicero, IN died May 1, 2013 at Harbour Manor Health & Living Community. She was born February 2, 1915 at Winamac, Indiana to John Frank and Theda Mae (George) Frain. She was raised on the Frainholm Dairy Farm.

Marge, as she was affectionately known, was a graduate of the Purdue/Home Hospital School of Nursing where she met her husband of 50 years, Guy Merritt Marquis. Merritt was a Purdue student and one of Marge's patients.

Marge & Merritt spent their early married years in Cicero where they were members of Cicero Methodist Church and Marge still holds her membership there. They then lived in Indianapolis from 1952 until 1980, then they returned to Cicero in their retirement years.

Marge worked at Riley Hospital at Indianapolis from 1960 to 1980. She was head nurse on the Isolation Ward for over twelve years.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband is a son: Merritt Anton (Tony) Marquis.

She is survived by a son: John Michael (Barb) Marquis of Indianapolis, IN, and their children and grandchildren: Katie Sommers (Richard, Maggie & Stephen) Johnny (Sarina, Miles & Charlie), Andy (Becca) and Danny (Kelsie). Also surviving is Lori Marquis (Tony's daughter).

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at Cicero United Methodist Church. Burial will occur at Cicero Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Cicero United Methodist Church.
