Mabel Ethel Hillegonds

Mabel Ethel Hillegonds, age 100, of Cicero, IN. died December 3, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, Indiana. She was born May 22, 1914 at Hibbing, MN to Thomas and Lena (Reitman) MacDonald. She was a bookkeeper working in the automotive industries. She also did sewing and taylering for others. She was a member of Cicero Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, playing the piano, needlepoint, crocheting, and painting ceramics. She first married Cloyd Strong who preceded her in death, and later married Clarence Hillegonds who also preceded her in death. Surviving her are two daughters: Janice McLeod of Canton, NC and Sharon Beatty of Asheville, NC, grandchildren: Rob (Jamie) Ely of Cicero, IN and Paul Beatty of Asheville, NC, and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Cicero Christian Church with Pastor Tim Lueking officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike, Cicero, IN, 46034.
