Michael Emmerling

–

Noblesville, Indiana

Michael Emmerling, known affectionately as Mike or Poppy, passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 65, leaving a legacy of compassionate service, dedicated love, and an enduring zest for life. Born on June 22, 1960, in Anderson, Indiana, Michael's life was an inspiring journey from his humble beginnings to becoming a beloved figure in his community in Noblesville, where he spent his most cherished years.

Michael was a reliable rock for his family, a loving husband to his wife, Ginger Emmerling, whom he married on June 12, 2009, and a devoted father to his children, Heidi Emmerling, Logan Emmerling, Cindy Banks, and Danny Kershner. He was also a beloved son to Kaye Mitchell, a caring brother to Tom Emmerling and Mitzi Pruitt, and a doting grandfather who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his 6 grandchildren, Zoe, Sophia, Juliana, Michael, Kensi, and Jayce. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Emmerling. Michael was a stubborn yet empathetic soul, always striving to be the best human he could be. He placed the utmost importance on those he loved and was always there for them in times of need.

In retirement, Michael found great joy in tinkering, a testament to his curious and inventive mind. He also had a deep and abiding love for all aspects of movies, from the storytelling to the technical intricacies. His life was a testament to the words of Robin S. Sharma: "The purpose of life is the life of purpose." Michael lived his life with purpose, love, and dedication, enriching the lives of those around him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who knew him.

Michael's wishes were to have a simple cremation and his care has been entrusted to Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Homes in Cicero, IN.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 27th from 3pm until 7pm. Located at the Forest Park Lodge at the North entrance.
