Larry A. Tishner

Larry A. Tishner, age 79, of Cicero, IN died April 6, 2016 at Wellbrooke of Westfield at Westfield, IN. He was born March 9, 1937 at Cicero, IN to Jackson J. and Tressa Ann (Mayfield) Tishner. He was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1954. Larry had worked for many years at Delco Remy at Anderson. He also had worked as a policeman on the Cicero Police Department. He was one of the founders of the Cicero Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer for several years. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He married Ida L. (Higginbotham) Tishner. She survives him. Also surviving is a son: Larry Joe (Laura) Tishner of Atlanta, IN, daughters: Joni Warren of Bradenton, FL and Tammy (Bob) Thomas of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Autumn (Ryan) Azeltine, Andrew (Ashley) Thomas and Amanda Thomas, great-grandchildren: Tallon, Trista, Cole, and Tinley Azeltine, and Gavin Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Tishner and a sister: Lois Spannuth.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of the services at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
