Kathleen Thompson

Kathleen Thompson, age 89, of Arcadia, IN died January 12, 2015 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN. She was born July 5, 1925 near Arcadia, IN to Voris and Barbara (Burkhardt) Heaton. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School with the Class of 1943. She had first worked at Firestone Industrial Products at Noblesville, then was an Avon Products saleswoman. Later she was a bookkeeper and secretary for Thompson Brothers Enterprises, Inc. Kathleen also enjoyed being a homemaker. She was an active long time member of Arcadia Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship. She had also served her church on various committees and women's groups, and as a Sunday School teacher. She had bowled on several bowling leagues for almost 30 years. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing cross-stiching. She married Leland K. Thompson on September 24, 1946. He preceded her in death September 18, 2014. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a grandson: Nick Kerfoot and a half-sister: Loretha McCord. Surviving her is a daughter: Marlene (Pat) Kerfoot of Arcadia, IN, sons: Gary (Barbara) Thompson of Wilmette, IL and Dennis (Myrna) Thompson of Atlanta, IN, grandchildren: Brad (Tina) Kerfoot, Nathan Thompson, Kathryn (Ken) Swanson, Laura Thompson, Rachel Thompson, Sara (Brian) Brown, Jason Thompson and Micah Thompson. Additional survivors include great-grandchildren: Alexis Kerfoot Jackson, Ava Jackson, Carter Kerfoot Jackson, Caleb Kerfoot, Paul Kerfoot, Winston Brown and Miriam Brown and a granddaughter-in-law: Tiffany (Brad) Jackson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN, 46034 with Pastor J.R. Moffatt officiating. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services.
