John A Story, Sr.

John A. Story, Sr., age 78, of Cicero, IN died August 3, 2013 at Riverview Hospital at Noblesville, IN. He was born September 11, 1934 at West Point, TN to James David and Eva Estella (Andrews) Story.

He was a graduate of Collinwood High School at Collinwood, TN where he played baseball, basketball and other sports. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. John attended Pleasant View Baptist Church at Noblesville.

He was a gardener, and also had enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. John also enjoyed watching many sporting events and was and avid NASCAR fan.

He married Gladys Marie (Jones) Story on November 5, 1955. She survives him. Additional survivors include two sons: John A. (Joy) Story, Jr. of Cicero, IN and James Brian Story of Noblesville, IN, brothers: James P. Story of Noblesville, IN and Albert Lee Story of Linden, TN, a sister: Peggy Ann Flatt of Columbia, TN, 3 granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Melody Story, two infant sons and two infant daughters who died shortly after birth.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Pleasant View Baptist church, 825 South 11th Street, Noblesville, IN with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at noon. Burial will follow the services at Crownland Cemetery at Noblesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
