John Richard Nash

John Richard Nash, age 85, of Noblesville, IN died February 23, 2014 at Harbour Manor Care Center at Noblesville. He was born December 26, 1928 at Chicago, IL to Richard Joseph and Elizabeth Frances (Ryan) Nash. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lake Forest College where he played varsity football. He was a partner with the Nash Brothers Construction Company, specializing in underground installations. He was also a personal pilot. John had served on the Barrington, Illinois School Board for a few years. And he had coached Babe Ruth Baseball for several years. He enjoyed snow skiing, golfing and old movies and was especially a John Wayne fan. Most of all he loved his family and looked forward to family gatherings. He married Gretchen Gertrude (G.G.) Loesch) Nash on June 27, 1953. She survives him. Also surviving are two sons: Richard Hugo Nash of Honduras and John Ryan Nash of Chicago, IL, four daughters: Gretchen Elizabeth (Bunny) Nash-Gardner of Louisville, KY, Mary Jo Noltenmeyer of Louisville, KY, Trisha Anne McDermond of Cicero, IN and Diane Marie Hastings of Glen Ellyn, IL and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth Mae Nash. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville with Pastor Eric Gale officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the fellowship hall of the Church after the services. Burial will occur at a later date at Calvary Cemetery at Evanston, IL Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
