Joanna Mae Rutledge Rutledge Scott

Joanna Mae Rutledge Scott, age 86, of Arcadia, IN died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, IN. She was born June 30, 1926 at Tipton, IN to Otis Wimer and Helen Kathlene (Ferver) Small.

She was a graduate of Tipton High School. Joanna is a member of the Arcadia Christian Church, the Lois Circle, and was a Sunday School teacher. She also was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Cicero Order of Eastern Star and the Idealettes Extension Homemakers Club. Joanna enjoyed reading and serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She had worked at Delco Radio Corporation at Kokomo, IN, McMahon Food Company at Noblesville and was co-owner and secretary for Rutledge Plumbing Company at Arcadia, IN.

She married Leon "Shorty" Rutledge on February 9, 1947. He preceded her in death June 21, 1978. Later she married Darrell W. Scott who passed away, August 19, 2005.

Surviving her are two sons: Michael Leon (Beth) Rutledge of Atlanta, IN and Mark Dana (Gail) Rutledge of Plainfield, IN, brothers: Robert Small of Kokomo, IN and Jim (Marilyn) Small of Lebanon, IN, sisters: Emmanell (Donald) Dunn of Tipton, IN, Shirley Bush of Overland Park, KA, and Suzanne (Dan) Fulton of Kokomo, IN, grandchildren: Nathan, Brock Levi and Christopher Rutledge, great-grandchild: Braden Rutledge, and a step-grandchild: Madison Moreland.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Stanley Small.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Rev. Lee Mangold officiating. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. with Eastern Star Services at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Cicero Order of Eastern Star, 4915 East 296th Street, Atlanta, IN 46031.
