Joan Wade Guthrie

Joan Wade Guthrie, age 79, of Indianapolis, IN passed away March 19, 2014 at Rosewalk Village at Indianapolis, IN. She was born November 3, 1934 at Big Stone Gap, Virginia to William and Mae (Young) Wade. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are two children: Carmela and Brian and her husband: Elden Guthrie. She had worked for Eli Lilly Company at Indianapolis for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and doing crossword puzzles. Surviving her are two grandchildren: Nichole Seal and Chris (Katie) Seal, great-grandchildren: Zavier, Carly, Isaac, Joshua, and River, sisters: Gaphina Miller and Billie Canfield, brothers: Donald, Kenneth, Wayne, Michael, Greg and Tony Wade. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church at Fortville, IN with funeral services at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, also at the Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN.
