Joan Elizabeth Bowman

Joan Elizabeth Bowman, age 76, of Cicero, IN died January 7, 2014 at her home. She was born March 6, 1937 at Anderson, IN to Clarence Edward and Mary Louise (Scott) Warren. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School with the Class of 1954. She then received her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Indiana University. She had taught fourth grade for Noblesville Schools and later substituted for Noblesville and Hamilton Heights Schools. Joan was a member of Harbour Shores Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Foods and Fashions Homemakers Club, and Westfield Library Book Discussion Group. She married Russell William Bowman on March 31, 1956. He preceded her in death March 31, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by a brother: Phillip Warren and two sister: Patty Cowart and Phyllis Warren. Surviving her are four sons: Anthony William (Michelle) Bowman of Cicero, IN, Brian Kent (Renee) Bowman of Goshen, IN, Eric Allen Bowman of Cicero, IN and Andrew Jason (Julie) Bowman of Arcadia, IN, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 11, 2014 with funeral services immediately following at 2.30. Rev. Stephen Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbour Shores Church.
