James Matthew Pearce

After a brief illness, J. Matthew Pearce, Junior, age 29, of Zionsville, IN, died on April 21, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at the Arcadia Developmental Center at Arcadia, IN.

We all remember Matt for the joyful exuberance with which he faced the challenges of his life. Whether it was scooting down the dunes of Lake Michigan, splashing forever with his dogs in the pool, singing perhaps a bit too loud in church, or listening forever to his dear country music, his unrestrained enthusiasm was always present. Though his disabilities finally
became too much, he, to the end lived life as a happy toddler.

He is survived by his parents, Amy and Jim Pearce of Zionsville, IN, his sister, Emily Pearce of Indianapolis, IN, his brother, Nicholas Pearce of Miami, FL, his grandfather, Garland Isenhower of Portage, MI, and the wonderful staff of Arcadia Developemental Center who held him so dear.

A memorial service to celebrate Matt's life will be held at the Arcadia Developmental Center, 303 Franklin Avenue, Arcadia, IN 46030 on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. A family burial will occur at Pentwater, MI later this summer. Memorial contribitions may be made to The Angel Fund at the Arcadia Developmental Center in lieu of flowers in memory of Matt.
