Rev. James Meredith Mcguffey

Rev. James Meredith McGuffey, age 84, of Cicero, IN died May 10, 2016 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN. He was born June 30, 1931 at Barthell, Kentucky to Stobert Lee and Lessie (Chitwood) McGuffey. Rev. McGuffey completed ministerial studies and become an ordained minister and evangelist for Nazarene Churches that he pastored for over 35 years. Additionally he worked at Noblesville Casting Company for 35 years, for Pinkerton Security at Riverview Hospital, and lastly he worked for Cobra Iron Works all at Noblesville, IN. He was an avid game hunter and also enjoyed finding mushrooms. He was a member of Noblesville First Church of the Nazarene. He married Mary June (Wiles) McGuffey on December 22, 1951. She survives him. Additional survivors include sons: Coleman McGuffey of Cicero, IN and Kevin McGuffey of Noblesville, IN, daughters: Camille Thompson of Cicero, IN and Gail Camp Wiles-Newby of Westfield, IN, brothers: Harold McGuffey and Danny Boone of Kentucky, and Steven Boone of Noblesville, IN, sister: Virginia Sipe of Arcadia, IN, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Phyllis Watters and brothers: Charles, Tommy and Ernest McGuffey. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with Rev. Larry Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery at Noblesville, IN. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O.
