James Kaiser

–

Cicero, Indiana

James Kaiser, age 79, of Arcadia, IN died April 19, 2016 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN. He was born August 27, 1936 at Cicero, IN to Donald C. and Nellie O. (Lowe) Kaiser. He attended Jackson Central High School and then was schooled as a certified meat cutter. He was known as an excellent meat cutter and had worked for Kenley's Super Market at Noblesville, IN for over 26 years as head of the meat department at their south store location. Jim, as he was known, was an outdoors man. He loved hunting and fishing and supported conservation rules and laws. A second home and refuge for him was Overdorf Lake near Arcadia where he fished. He knew all the best places and depths at which to fish. He also knew fishing equipment and helped others in learning how to use it and to repair it. Roy Overdorf, Lake owner, had Jim help him at times at the Lake and remembers a time the Grateful Dead fans stayed at his facility and Jim helped with the large crowd. He also said Jim's favorite pastime was to argue, even if he was right at times. He was a member of the N.R.A. Surviving him are nephews: Kent Kaiser and Steve Kaiser, neices: Diana Brown, Kathy Hancock, Tammy Kaiser, and Judy Torralba. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers: Keith, John, William, Jack and Carl Kaiser. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Arcadia Chapel, 120 East Main Street, Arcadia, IN 46030, where you may send condolences at www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
