Hurel Dean Rednour

Hurel Dean Rednour, age 82 of Arcadia, IN died January 31, 2016 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born March 23, 1933 at Zula, Kentucky to Leslie Roscoe and Mossie Mae (Daniels) Rednour. Dean, as he was fondly known, served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army, from 1953 to 1955 he served in Korea, then from 1956 to 1959 he was stateside in Virginia. He then became a beloved custodian at Hamilton Heights Elementary School where he worked for many years. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and his family declared him a "Mr. Fix It" as he hung out in his garage. Additionally, he was an avid Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan. He married Vonda Louise (Ayers) Rednour on October 6, 1962. She preceded him in death April 7, 2004. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by sisters: Vela Coffey and Elgie White, brothers: Harold Rednour, Carl Rednour and Ed Rednour. Surviving Dean is a son: Kenny Dean (Jamie) Rednour of Arcadia, IN, daughters: Bev (Steve) Baker of Arcadia, IN and Tammy Rednour of Atlanta, IN, brother: Don Rednour of Muncie, IN, sisters: Estella Adair and Sue Grayer, both of Indianapolis, IN, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hartley Funeral Homes Arcadia Chapel, 120 East Main Street, Arcadia, IN 46030 with burial to follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Elder John Knapp will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
