Geneva Achenbach

Geneva Achenbach, age 92, of Atlanta, IN, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her home. She was born May 8, 1917 near Atlanta to Raymond W. and Frona V. (Caca) Curnutt.

She was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School Class of 1935. She had lived on a farm most of her life and had worked at the Kraft Cheese Factory at Sharpsville, IN. She enjoyed being a homemaker and square dancing. She was a member of the Omega Christian Church, Do Si Does Square Dance Club, and the Madison County Promenaders.

She married Lowell F. Achenbach on June 16, 1945. He preceded her in death May 10, 1999. Also preceding her in death is a son, Phillip Achenbach and a brother, Gerald Curnutt.

Surviving her are two grandchildren: Edward L. (Julie) Achenbach of Anderson, IN, and Darlene K. (Mike) Sutton of Cicero, IN, five great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Blackford) Achenbach of Atlanta, IN.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. also at the Funeral Home.
