Faye Palmer

Faye Palmer, age 94, of Tipton, IN died February 6, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton. She was born May 10, 1919 at Noblesville, IN to the late Everett and Edna Mae (Lacy) Hunter. She was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1936. She married George Otis Palmer on April 5, 1941. He preceded her in death December 6, 1982. Together they owned and operated Palmer's Grocery and Hardware Store at Omega for several years. Faye had also worked in the cafeteria at Walnut Grove School for many years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, interacting with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. In her leisure time she also enjoyed reading, crocheting and growing flowers. Surviving her are two sons: Steve (Marge) Palmer of Tipton, IN, and Randy (Marie) Palmer of Tipton, IN, a daughter: Toni (Tom) Frye of Tipton, IN, daughter-in-law: Cathy Palmer of Muncie, IN, grandchildren: Shelly (Mike) Ross, Todd (Jill) Palmer, Chad (Jessica) Frye, Carrie (Joe) Bitner, and Justin Palmer, great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jon Ross, Cameron and Allison Frye, Lacy and Avery Bitner, and Drew and Owen Palmer. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Dennis Palmer, her sisters: Gertrude Brewer, Bernice Holloway and a brother: Delbert Holloway. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service time at 1:00 P.M. the same day. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
