Evan M Achenbach

Evan M. Achenbach, age 74, of Atlanta, IN, died November 18, 2016 at Harbour Manor Nursing Facility at Noblesville, IN. He was born March 18, 1942 at Indianapolis to Harold and Jane Ann (House) Achenbach. They preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1960. He was employed for 38 years at Delco Remy at Anderson, IN as a mold maker in skilled trades. He was also an owner of the Stop Time Company, a timing and scoring company for 5K and 10K road racing and cross country events. Evan was the director of the Buzzards Roost 10K Road Race for 28 years. He was also a member of the Anderson Road Racers Club. Evan was an active member of Omega Christian Church where he served as an elder and greeter. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of Ed Wells Bowling League. He married Susan Shaffer Achenbach on February 5, 1964. She survives him along with two sons: Derek (Greta) Achenbach of Westfield, IN and Kyle (Melissa) Achenbach of Fishers, IN, daughter: Nichole (Kevin) Collette of Adams, TN, brother; Dennis Achenbach of Arcadia, IN, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Omega Christian Church, 12763 East 281st St., Arcadia, IN, with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson St., Cicero, IN 46034, where you may send condolences at www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
