Erma Jean Newby

Erma Jean Newby, age 86, of Cicero, IN died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at her home. She was born April 28, 1924 at Alexandria, IN to Roscoe Forrest and Sarah Gertrude (George) Hoover.

She graduated from Frankton High School Class of 1942. Erma Jean went to work at Payne's Pharmacy in downtown Cicero and was employed there for 19 years. She then worked for several years at Western Electric. After retiring from there she worked for 11 years at Main Street Video at Cicero.

She was a member of Atlanta Christian Church. She enjoyed going to auctions and collected antiques through the years.

She married Dale K. Newby on June 5, 1942. He died October 28, 1975. Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband is a brother: Roscoe Forrest Hoover, Jr.

Surviving her is a daughter: Belinda Rainwater of Warsaw, IN and a son and his wife: Michael George (Patricia) Newby of Arcadia, IN, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery.
