Elizabeth Reece Rainwater

Elizabeth Reece Rainwater, age 92, of Arcadia, IN, died at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, IN on August 9, 2016. She was born May 30, 1924 at McAlester, Oklahoma to Reece. D. and Goldie Elizabeth (Miller) Cooper. She was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1942. Betty, as she was known, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Arcadia, IN, and the former Arcadia Order of Eastern Star. She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Indiana Statehouse and at the Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. She was also an avid knitter and crocheter, winning many ribbons and awards at the State Fair. Betty married Russell Clair Rainwater on August 8, 1942. He preceded her in death September 27, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son: Dennis Rainwater and a brother: Craig Cooper. Surviving her is a daughter: Amy (Ted) Call or Noblesville, IN, two sons: Russell (Peggy) Rainwater of Corpus Christi, TX and James (Diana) Rainwater of Arcadia, IN, grandchildren: Jeff, Jeremy, Johnna, John, Emma, and Tony Rainwater, Jama Edwards, Ryan Call and Andrew Resch, plus several great- and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with burial to follow at Arcadia Cemetery.
