Eleanor Madeline Scherer

Eleanor Madeline Scherer, age 91, of Westfield and formerly of Cicero, IN, died March 26, 2011 at Maple Park Village at Westfield. She was born May 4, 1919 at Knox, PA to Jesse M. and Hazel Delle (Castor) Huffman. She was a graduate of Lapel High School.

Madeline, as she was locally known, enjoyed being a homemaker and interacting with her family. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at Noblesville and was a fifty year member of Cicero Eastern Star. She married Albert Elmer Scherer on December 24, 1940. He preceded her in death July 17, 2006.

Susriving her is a daughter: Patricia Kay Skeoch of Carmel, IN, a son: Michael Lee Scherer of Indianapolis, IN, two grandchildren: Daniel Skeoch of Queen Creek, AZ and Christine Skeoch of Carmel, two great-grandchildren: Evan Anthony Skeoch and Owen Andrew Skeoch.

Preceding her in death in adddition to her parents and husband are two sisters: Mary Jeanette Doan and Hazel Delle Mayhew.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Noblesville, IN with Pastor Douglas Gast officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
