Dorothy Conder

–

Cicero, Indiana

Dorothy Jean Conder, affectionately known as Dot to her friends and loved ones, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Westfield. Born on January 9, 1926, in Covington, Indiana, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of her parents, Glenn and Fern Galloway. A proud graduate of Covington High School, class of 1943, Dorothy carried the values of her upbringing into her life of service, faith, and love for her family.

Dorothy's life was a tapestry woven with love and devotion. Her story was one of resilience and faith, demonstrated by her lifelong membership in Cicero Christian Church. Beyond her faith, Dorothy's heart was always at home, where she beautifully fulfilled her role as a homemaker. The enticing aroma of her fried chicken and the unforgettable taste of her pies, perfected with the ideal crust, were testaments to her love of cooking. Every guest at her table felt the warmth and welcome.

However, the true essence of Dorothy's life was her family. During World War II, she met the love of her life, Bill Conder. Their love story spanned six incredible decades, during which they built a beautiful life together. They initially resided in Anderson before making Cicero their home in 1983.

Dorothy was the proud mother of Dan (Pam) Conder and Mary Lee (Richard Sulsky) Conder, and a doting grandmother to Ed, Tim, Amanda, and Cassie. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Julia, Megan, June, and Shelby. Dorothy took immense pleasure in attending her grandsons' sports events and never missed her great-granddaughters' concerts or games, cherishing every moment spent with her family.

Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Fern Galloway; her loving husband, Bill Conder; her son, Patrick Conder; her sister, Mary Margaret Moudy; and her brothers, Dale and Chester Galloway. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her surviving family and the countless lives she touched.
