Cicero, Indiana

Donna Marie Hunter, 84, of rural Atlanta, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was born July 21, 1938 at Lapel, Indiana to Everett and Iva (Welsh) Haskell. After high school she worked as a nurse's aide until she married. She married Wayne Francis Hunter on August 10, 1971 and stepped into her new role as a wife and homemaker. Living in the country, Donna soon became involved with working on a farm, a role she also enjoyed. She tended their chickens and helped her husband with their cattle plus building and repairing fences. She also had a large garden.
She loved being with people and especially enjoyed visiting and joking with her family and friends. Donna and her husband liked to listen to country music and made several trips to Branson with the bus trips hosted by Dr. Harris. They were able to also accomplish their dream trip to Hawaii. In later years her nursing skills were put to good use again as she took care of mother-in-law, Nettie Hunter for over ten years, and later took care of her husband at home until he required more intensive care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Gerald, Raymond and Harvey Haskell and step-son: Ted Hunter.
Survivors of her include her husband: Wayne Francis Hunter, son: Brian Hunter of Atlanta, IN and daughter: Cindy (Fiance) Eric Layton) Cooper of Whitestown, IN, grandchildren: Axle, Christian, Teagan, Kade, and Casey, step-daughters: Bev Poindexter and Bec Hunter-Barnett, step-son: Jerry W.
