Donald Eugene Fennell

Donald Eugene Fennell, age 67, of Arcadia, IN died October 23, 2016 at Riverwalk Village at Noblesville, IN. He was born January 14, 1949 at Elwood, IN to George Francis and Kathryn Elizabeth (Buckley) Fennell. He was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School with the Class of 1967. He then served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Viet Nam War.
He first was a self-employed semi truck driver, then became the Director of Transportation for Hamilton Heights School Corporation where he was employed for over 13 years. Don, as he was fondly known, also raised, bred, broke, drove, rode and hitched Belgain Draft and Quarter horses. He had coached youth football and baseball teams and had served as the president of Arcadia Little League. He was a member of Arcadia Christian Church. He is survived by two sons: Bradley (Megan) Fennell of Lafayette, IN and Adam Fennell of Arcadia, IN, a sister: Shirley Stover of Arcadia, IN, brothers: Edward Fennell of Arcadia, IN and Dan Fennell of Scottsburg, IN, grandchildren: Lilah, Lucie and Henry Fennell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Fennell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with Pastor Warren Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery, 600 N 65 E, Sharpsville, IN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
