David Allan Pickett

David Allan Pickett, age 78, of Arcadia, IN died October 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 16, 1935 at Arcadia, IN to Jesse P. and Fayola Ellen (Sowers) Pickett. His parents preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1953. David then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He owned and managed the Arcadia Hardware Store in Arcadia, IN for many years. He also owned Pickett Heating, Electric and Plumbing at Arcadia, IN for several years. After retiring he remodeled and rehabbed houses, then sold them.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Arcadia, IN, Noblesville Masonic Lodge, Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite. For many years he was a member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department and Arcadia Citizens Together group. For the past 6 years he and his wife went on Mission Trips assisting other people in need.

He married Carolyn Sue (Seely) Pickett on June 1, 1958. She survives him. Additional survivors include sons: Mark Allan Pickett of Altadena, CA and Russell Wayne Pickett of Arcadia, IN, a daughter: Denise Lynn Sicula of Frisco, TX, a brother: Philip Pickett of Wisconsin, half-brother: Jeff Pickett of Bloomington, IN and eight grandchildren: Levi, Nathan, Grace, Andrew and Sawyer Pickett, Timothy, Bradley and Victoria Sicula.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church at Arcadia, IN with Pastor James Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday also at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church.
