Daniel Bernard Palko, Sr.

Daniel Bernard Palko, Sr., age 87, of Mooresville, IN, formerly of Westfield and Indianapolis, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the home of his daughter. He was born July 11, 1924 at Wyoming, Pennsylvania to Paul P. and Elizabeth (Baco) Palko. Daniel was a graduate of Wyoming Memorial High School.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at Cicero, IN and the Knight of Columbus. Daniel worked for the Canteen Corporation of America and managed the cafeteria in the Indiana State Office Building until 1966. He and his wife then became owners and managers of Dan's Country Kitchen Restaurant at Westfield, IN until he retired.

He married Julia Ann (Vetcher) Palko on October 28, 1946. She preceded him in death July 24, 1996. Survivors include a son: Daniel B. Palko, Jr. of Spencer, IN and a daughter: Deborah Burcham of Mooresville, IN, brothers: Williiam T. (Dorothy) Palko of Tampa, FL and Bernard (Lucy) Palko of Warren, MI, grandchildren: Corrine Collier and Christine Carter, and great-grandchildren: Alyssa Gray, Katelyn Osborne, and Kevin Collier.

Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3. 2011 at 9:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cicero, IN. Reverend Michael Kettron will officiate. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Little Sisters of the Poor. Visitation
