Charles Joseph "Charlie" King

Charles Joseph "Charlie" King, 74, of Omega, IN, went home to his Lord and Savior on April 17, 2011 at Riverview Hospital. He was born March 25, 1937 at Anderson, IN to the late Clyde and Dorothy (Mills) King. Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marina (Davis) King of Omega, three children: J. Bradley King of Irvington, IN, C. Eric (Alicia) King of Omega, and Karen (John) Garlinghouse of Omega, four grandchildren: Samantha (Brian) King of Westfield, Alexandra King of Fishers, Nick King of Omega and Marina (Lot) Turner of Anderson, Step-great-grandchildren: Tayia Davis and Brian Davis. He was anticipating the birth of great-granddaughter: Eleanor Sophia Turner. He is also survived by two borhters: Larry King and Tom King, both of Perkinsville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Mike King and the infant Thomas King.

Charlie graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1955 and attended Anderson College. He was employed as a product design engineer for Delco Remy at Anderson for 34 years before his retirement.

He was a member of Omega Christian Church, the National Rifle Association, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 at Anderson and the Scottish Rite at Indianapolis. He enjoyed woodworking and antiques, and operated an antique booth at Noblesville following his retirement. He was devoted to his family and worked long hours to provide many opportunities and a loving home for his wife and children.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Omega Christian Church with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial services will be held at at later date at the Arcadia Cemetery. Vistiation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel.
