Bruce Edward Pickett

Bruce Edward Pickett, age 56, of Atlanta, IN died suddenly Sunday, April 8, 2012 at I.U. Tipton Hospital. He was born October 6, 1955 at Lawton, OK to Robert L. and Marietta Pauline (Beck) Pickett.

Bruce was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School with the Class of 1974. He also was a graduate of Purdue University Agriculture Short Course.
Bruce had farmed and worked at Beck's Superior Hybrids. He later started and was currently operating Best Pick, an excavating and landscaping company.

He was a member of Emmaus Christian Church at Indianapolis and New Hope Great Banquet. Through his faith he enjoyed serving and teaching others.

Bruce had served eight years on the Hamilton Heights School Board and on the building committee for the new Cicero Christian Church. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren. In his limited spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife: Patricia Margaret (Walker) Pickett, his mother: Marietta Pauline Pickett, daughter: Lindsey Pickett Hyde of Decatur, IL, sons: Tanner Pickett of Syracuse, IN, Blake Robert Riley of Westfield, IN and Tyler Pickett of Muncie, IN, grandchildren: Sidney Hyde, Shawn Hyde and Spencer Hyde. Additional survivors include his step children: Marybeth Stahr of Bridgeport, NE, Kaela Lundstrom of LaGrange, WY, Mark, Hudson, Moriah, Leah, and Marion Parrent all of Atlanta, IN.

Preceding him in death in addition to his father is his sister: Pamela Pickett.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Cicero Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery near Arcadia, IN. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. also at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to
