Betty Lou Tinney

Betty Lou Tinney, age 85, of Arcadia, IN died Sunday evening, July 5, 2015 at her home. She was born February 5, 1930 at Millersville, IN to Harold and Minnie Ellen (Zook) Stewart. She was a GED graduate of Noblesville High School. She had worked 40 years at Hartley Interiors & Antiques at Arcadia, IN and had also helped with the bookkeeping and clerical work for Hartley Funeral Homes. Betty was very particular about her yard and gardens, working tirelessly to keep them immaculate. She would can and freeze what was produced. And her family attested to her being a great cook. She liked to go camping and fishing and was an avid collector of teddy bears. Surviving her is a son: Richard Harold Tinney of Arcadia, IN and a daughter: Rebecca Ellen Pfaff of Ferdinand, IN, a twin sister: Barbara Jean Ellis of Mississippi, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Russell Tinney, brother: Roscoe Zook and a sister: Velma Prickett. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with visitation from 4:00 until service time. Rev. Lee Mangold and Elder John Knapp will officiate. Burial will occur Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oaklandon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
