Betty Evajean Thurston

Betty Evajean Thurston, age 91, of Tipton, IN and formerly of Millersburg, IN died November 1, 2016 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton. She was born December 13, 1924 near Arcadia, IN to Albert Riley and Lydia Elizabeth (Bennett) Thurston. She had first worked at Delco Remy at Anderson, IN for a few years. She then worked at The Oaks that later became the John Bean Company and lastly was known at FMC Corporation all located at Tipton, IN. All of her work at these companies involved painting vehicles and trucks, a work she did for over forty years. She was a member of the Millersburg Community Church and also attended the Tipton Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed yard work, gardening and just being outdoors. She also was an animal lover, especially her cats. Her family said she could often be found with a camera in her hand and took lots of pictures that she dated and recorded the person, location and event. Surviving her is a nephew: Jerry (Charlene) Belzer of Noblesville, IN, nieces: Evadean (Maurice) Bayliff of Tipton, IN, and Sharon (Gary) Tidler of Sharpsville, IN, and niece-in-law: Mary Thurston of Ekin, IN. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by a brother: Harry Thurston, and two sisters: Lindle Belzer and Dorothy Jane Thurston. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with great-nephew and Pastor James Thurston officiating.
