Barbara Etta Stevens

Barbara Etta Stevens, age 86, of Arcadia, FL and formerly of Cicero, IN and Grant County, IN, died January 14, 2013 at Desoto Care at Arcadia, FL. She was born June, 20, 1926 at Fairmount, IN to William Herbert and Mattie Pearl (Perry) Brown.

She was a graduate of Fairmount High School and then earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree at Ball State University. Barbara was a librarian and elementary school teacher. She had worked at Atlanta, Arcadia, Noblesville and Hamilton Heights Elementary Schools. She was also an active member of the Cicero Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving her is a daughter: Rosalie A. (Patrick) Tennity of Arcadia, FL, two sons: William Rex (Brenda) Stevens of Lake Worth, FL and James Darwin (Louie) Stevens of Tipton, IN........, grandchildren: Destry William Stevens, Delana Rachelle Stevens, Julia Etta Marie Cachere, Michelle Rene McKeown and Adrienne Klorese Watts, and five great-grandchildren. A nephew, Dr. Paul Edwin Brown, Jr. of Marion, IN also survives her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister : Patricia Mae Brown Milner and a brother: Paul Edwin Brown, Sr.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Cicero Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ron Kelly officiating. Burial with graveside rites will occur on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Park Cemetery near Fairmount, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Academy, 24815 State Road 19, Cicero, IN 46034.
