Barbara Mary Rice

Barbara Mary Rice, age 81, of Arcadia, IN, died Saturday June 19, 2010 at Atlantic Regional Hospital at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Barbara had recently relocated there to be near her daughter.

She was born August 7, 1928 at Detroit, Michigan to Joseph George and Carolyn Margaret (Lalene) Memie. She had worked as a meat processor for many years at Arcadia Meats at Arcadia, IN. She also had worked at the Cicero Childrens Home, Possman Nursing Home and New Horizon Healthcare Center. She was a member of Tetersburg Christian Church.

She married Herbert Nathaniel Rice on June 6, 1973. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is a daughter, Elizabeth Rice and two brothers: Harold Memie and Harry Memie.

Surviving her is a daughter, Carolyn Margaret Kostera, of Galloway, New Jersey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation from 12:30 to the time of the services at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Rev. Lee Mangold will officiate. Burial will follow at Roberts Chapel Cemetery west of Atlanta, IN. Visitation
