Barbara J Cook

Barbara J. Cook, age 78, of Arcadia, IN died February 11, 2010 at her home. She was born August 19, 1931 to Burnie Franklin and Linnie May (Miller) Miller.

She attended Jackson Central High School and was a graduate of Anderson High School Class of 1949. She was currently working and had worked for over 50 years as secretary and treasurer of Jackson Central High School that later became Hamilton Heights High School. She enjoyed interacting with and encouraging the students. She attended many of their sporting events. She was a member of Cicero Christian Church.

She was a loving and caring wife and mother and a doting grandmother. Family members surviving her include her husband: William C. Cook, Jr., son and his wife: Tony J. (Kathryn) Cook of Cicero, daughter and her husband: Diana Lee (Larry) Barkes of Goshen, IN, Sister: JoAnn Worley of Anderson, IN, Grandchildren: Tyler and Travis Cook, Colby, Schuyler and Braden Barkes, Brandi Jo DeVoe, Dr. Chandra Lee Ostrognai, Brittany Lynn Yoder. and Kahley Rochelle Barkes and 7 Great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is a grrandchild: Allison Noel Cook and a sister: Mary Saindon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Cicero Christian Church. Rev. Tim Leuking will officiate. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. also at the Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel.
