Sharron Kay (Hughes) Mayfield

Sharron Kay Mayfield, age 83, of Cicero, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Maple Village Park Nursing Home in Westfield, IN.

She was born in Bloomington on November 24, 1940, to the late Otto and Margaret (Porter) Hughes.  On March 2, 1956, she married David Mayfield and shared 68 years of marriage.

Sharron grew up in the Cicero area and attended Jackson Central High School. She was a dedicated homemaker and was passionate about taking care of her family.  She loved to cook and entertain and was always well-known for keeping a clean house.  Sharron was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church and was an honorary member of the Eastern Star.  After the children were grown, Sharron ran several side businesses, one of which she traveled making signs and knitting for people at conventions.  She enjoyed doing floral arrangements, doing macro may, knitting & crocheting, and traveling. However, her true love was her family and being a grandmother and mother. Those who knew Sharron know that she is one of the kindest and most caring souls that you could ever meet.  She will be missed by so many. 
 
Sharron is survived by her Husband, David Mayfield of Cicero, IN, Daughter, Christina (Charles ) Reichel of Noblesville, Son, David (Marie) Mayfield of Anderson, IN, grandchildren, Mike (Jocelyn) Reichel of Danville, IN, Charlie (Kathleen) Reichel of Noblesville, IN, and David (Deanna) Mayfield of Elwood, IN, great-grandchildren, Nolan, Logan, Emma, Carson, Roman, Stella, Atlas,  Lacy, and Mary, Sister, Philanna Polk of Kokomo, IN, Sister, Ruby Blake of Tipton, IN, and several nieces & nephews.

Sharron was preceded in death by her Parents, Otto & Margaret Hughes, Son, Robert Mayfield, Sister, Virginia Hughes, and Sister, Barbara Babb.

Sharron’s funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana with Pastor Jim Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the West Grove Cemetery, West 226th Street & Anthony Road.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana.
